What’s better than local wedding vendors to help make your big day the fairytale you have always imagined?! If you’re searching for a Wedding venue in Newmarket to tie the knot, we have found the perfect newly renovated space for you. We also picked a few of our favourite local vendors to help you cross some things off your list. Let’s get right into it!
Cardinal Golf Club has recently transformed a lounge in the clubhouse, making it one of our favourite rooms and where we chose to do our photo shoot! The Executive Lounge is located in the uppermost level of the clubhouse. It can accommodate up to 80 guests and is supplemented with modern features. The cathedral ceilings meet at the peak with chrome chandeliers encircling the room. Windows line the north wall with a private patio access overlooking the beautiful golf courses and bodies of water.
The split-level room features contemporary finishes with a rustic charm. A beautiful stone fireplace is built in the centre of the room as well as a stone wall with rustic wood trimming. To keep the night alive, the room features a built-in bar with wood and granite finishes and to make sure the guests don’t go anywhere, there are ensuite bathrooms as well as an in-room coat closet. Studded leather club chairs are also available along with a widescreen high definition screen equipped with sound system built into the wall.
Cardinal Golf Club Marketing Manager, Erin Thomas, explained that she thinks the best features of the room is the intimate charm and personality of the space and that it is fully private and all-compassing. “It offers everything needed without having to leave the room; own bathrooms and bar, private patio and closet in the room,” she said.
The room was spruced up with some beautiful flowers from one of our favourite florists in Newmarket, Blooming Wellies. The colour schemes were kept very classy and simple, which seems to be a trend nowadays. The centre pieces featured cream colour roses and hydrangeas with a touch of purple to add a pop of colour. They were all placed in wooden boxes to maintain the rustic look.
Hair Envy Creative Designs made sure our bride looked her best. With a classic curly updo, and lose curls in the front, her face was framed perfectly for pictures! A beautiful gold floral hair crown was also added for a unique touch. Casey, from Hair Envy, created a classic bridal makeup look, which wasn’t overly dramatic. She used fake lashes, created a bold wing liner and a neutral eye in order to set the eyes off for photos. The lips were a beautiful raspberry colour, which complimented the eyes perfectly. Casey suggested that when going for a neutral eye; go for a bold lip, or vice verse. Never do both because that can tend to be overwhelming. An average bridal up-do in salon starts at $95, while makeup in salon starts at $55.
“As soon as you book your venue, book your hair and makeup, even if it’s Two years in advance,” said Casey. “Always come with realistic expectations, we will make sure you look beautiful and feel beautiful.
Elmwood Brides provided the gorgeous gown and jewelry for our bride. The cream-coloured sweetheart neckline gown complimented the bride’s body perfectly. The curvy silhouette, lace and beading created a romantic, classy look. The gold jewelry added a beautiful touch and tied the look together.
The sweetest part of our shoot is of course, the cake. It was so hard to take a picture of it without licking off some of the icing. Dela, from Dela’s Cake Boutique provided us with the delicious three-tiered vanilla cake with buttercream icing. At $4.50 per serving, this popular cake is one that will definitely satisfy your taste buds. Dela explained that recently, the trend is moving back to being simplistic and chabby-chic rather than over the top. “ I like today’s trend way more,” said Dela. “ The over the top stuff can be way too formal and not a representation of the bride and groom.” To add a unique touch to the cake, every tier is wrapped with burlap and lace ribbon as well as fresh flowers to finish it off
The new Executive Lounge at Cardinal Golf Club definitely makes us want to say I do!
